International Study Trip - Madrid 2025
This international study trip took place at the end of Semester 2 of the Academic Year 2024/2025 as part of the BSc Marketing and Management degree at the University of Sussex Business School. The four-day educational experience in Madrid provided students with valuable insights into innovative marketing strategies across different sectors.
Students visited Otovo Ltd., a leading renewable energy company specialising in residential and commercial solar solutions. During this corporate visit, participants engaged with the marketing team to understand how sustainability narratives drive consumer engagement and brand positioning in the green energy market.
The cohort also visited the prestigious Museum Thyssen-Bornemisza, where they examined the institution's distinctive approach to cultural marketing. Through presentations, students learned about donor relations, corporate sponsorship programs, and digital engagement strategies that successfully attract private investors and public funding. This experience highlighted the unique marketing challenges faced by cultural organisations and how they balance artistic integrity with commercial sustainability.
