International Study Trip - Bologna 2025

This international study trip took place at the end of Semester 2 of the Academic Year 2024/2025 as part of the BSc Business and Management degree at the University of Sussex.

Students visited the University of Bologna, one of the world's oldest academic institutions, where they attended an insightful lecture on "ESG & Sustainability: Why It Matters for Businesses and Investors". The session covered ESG criteria evolution, case studies, financial implications, EU regulatory frameworks, and emerging trends in sustainable business. Students also explored the historic University of Bologna Library, which helped understand Italy's rich commercial evolution through the centuries.

Students visited the Lamborghini Factory in Sant'Agata Bolognese and observed advanced manufacturing processes first-hand and gained valuable insights into luxury automotive production, supply chain management, and Lamborghini's approach to maintaining exclusivity while incorporating sustainability initiatives. Students also participated in a historical tour of Bologna.

The trip provided students with practical understanding of sustainability in business, luxury brand management, and cross-cultural business operations within a European context.
