Mental Health First Aid for Managers
The course is a full day (7 hours) with breaks It covers the following:
• Background to mental health, mental illness and wellbeing
• An understanding of stress in the workplace
• Stress prevention in your team and the creation of psychological safety
• Introduction to a manager conversation for wellbeing
o Awareness - spotting the signs that someone is struggling, approaching, asking and assessing
o Be present - non-judgemental/active listening
o Co-create a plan - signposting for further support
o D – Manager Duties (and best practice). In this section, we also explore the
importance of boundaries
• Case studies and practice!
