UCD Professional Certificate in Creativity and Innovation for Education

This Certificate of Completion is awarded to students who have successfully completed the programme, the Professional Certificate in Creativity & Innovation for Education. This UCD accredited, Level 9, 15 ECTS programme supports learners to: • Explore creativity, innovation, and approaches to lead change in education. • Discover new approaches in education from around the world. • Create a culture of democratised and continuous learning and teaching. • Develop and instill 21st Century Learning Skills – including creativity and innovation. • Contribute to creating a culture of innovation. • Adopt an Entrepreneurial Mindset which includes comfort with risk, opportunity recognition, adaptability, future orientation, initiative, resilience and self-direction. • Introduce teams and colleagues to the benefits of Value-Based Leadership. • Build a community of practice both inside and outside their organisation. • Enable greater collaboration and breaking down of silos. Earners have successfully participated in the following learning modules: • Creativity & Innovation for Entrepreneurial Educators: An introduction to different ways of solving problems creatively and reflecting on these activities. This includes the application of the Stanford d.school method of design thinking focusing on addressing an issue from a real world educational setting. • Leadership Development for Educators: A carefully constructed, challenge-based learning experience that will contribute to a mind-set change and equip learners with the leadership skills to effectively engage with others, identify needs and opportunities and to lead innovation and change within their environment. • Entrepreneurial Mindset for Educators: Focusing on the importance of education in the promotion of more entrepreneurial attitudes and behaviours and referring to the challenge of stimulating entrepreneurial mindsets in young people.
