3D Design 16-21 Year Olds
3D design is a broad and exciting discipline encompassing interiors, theatre design, exhibition design, model making, and furniture for which inspiration can be found everywhere.
This course combines practical and theoretical elements to give students a fuller understanding of the important process of design development. Students learn how to seek out inspiration to suit any given design brief and use it to begin investigating 3D forms and spaces. Students look at other artists’ and designers’ work and learn how to apply research to their practice.
Students present their work to their peers and tutor and learn how to effectively communicate their design thinking.
Course Outcomes
By the end of the course, students should be able to:
1. Use a breadth of research and design experimentation to influence their design process and inform their final output
2. Clearly and confidently communicate the process and rationale behind their designs
3. Grasp the importance of process behind good design
