Architectural Free Hand Sketching Short Course

Shiori Fujii
The Architectural Free Hand Sketching Short Course is designed to introduce students to free hand sketching and drawing in a critical way.
Using both buildings and interiors, students critically explore and develop an understanding of spatial qualities through the use of relevant drawing concerns such as horizon line, vanishing points, and construction lines.
During the course, group discussions form the starting point for exploring and explaining the visual vocabulary employed by the design profession. Students gain a deeper understanding of architecture and expand their knowledge of how architects and interior designers approach their designs.
The course covers several topics including drawing the same subject using both a one-point and two-point perspective, axonometric drawings and diagrammatic sketches.
