Illustration for 11 to 15 Year Olds Short Course

The Illustration for 11 to 15 Year Olds Short Course introduces students to designing publication layouts, curating content and other specialist skills such as bookbinding and typography, in order to produce a completed, handmade zine. During the course, students will be introduced to various illustration techniques designed to improve their practical skills by exploring new ways of image-making. Students learn through exploration, research and experimentation by working on several small projects that culminate in an individually designed zine. The course covers several topics that relate to this area including illustration, research, layout, collage, bookbinding, drawing, printmaking and mood-boarding. By the end of the course, students should have worked on a project that will enhance their portfolio by integrating many skills into one final work. This is a non-accredited UALSC specifically designed as part of our kids and teenagers portfolio.
