Bridalwear Short Course

On the Bridalwear Short Course students learn how to create contemporary bridalwear. During the course, students explore the specialist techniques needed to create contemporary bridalwear. With tutor guidance, students discuss current trends and create a bodice design of their choice. Students work from either a block or stand to complete a toile for a fitted bodice, refitting where necessary before making up in their chosen fabric. They then move on to discuss skirt and dress patterns such as fishtail or bias cut before completing various toiles. The course offers students the opportunity to investigate different types of surface decorations such as lace, piping and bias frills. Students also discuss veils and petticoats. By the end of the course, students will have had the opportunity to network and share ideas with other students and received feedback on assignments.
