Develop a creative skill over a single weekend, through a combination of talks, workshops and activities, this course offers a backstage pass to the compelling history and multifaceted purpose of the CSM Museum and Study Collection. Based at the CSM Museum and Study Collection in Kings Cross, the course offers an exclusive tour of the stores, which contain more than 35,000 objects across the landscape of art and design.

From object handling and preventative conservation to cataloguing and collections management, the course aims to help students acquire an essential toolkit to begin or progress their career as a curator.

Students also learn about the key digital marketing skills required to thrive as a modern curator, using photography, storytelling and social media to promote museum objects and activities.

Course outcomes

By the end of the course students should understand:
