Structured Bra Making Short Course

The Structured Bra Making Short Course is designed to simplify the process of bra making. During the course, students learn how to accurately cut out and construct a series of structured bras. The garments include a non-wired full cup bra, an under-wired padded bra and a non-padded darted bra. Students assemble and take home three different styles of bra, all in size 34 B. Students gain an insight into how to deconstruct and take a pattern from a bra, so they can create their own size pattern at home. Students work with industrial machines on the course, but the techniques learnt will be transferable to domestic sewing machines at home. The course covers a number of topics including lingerie fabrics and components, seam types, grain and stretch of fabrics, specialist industrial machines and cutting out methods. By the end of the course, students should have completed three different styles of bras.
