The Millinery Workshop Short Course offers students tips, techniques and hands-on practice as they discover the art of millinery. This intensive 5-day workshop is designed to give students the opportunity to sharpen up their skills and get off to a flying start.
During the course, students make two (or more) of their own hats to take away using wool felt and sinamay. Students are encouraged to work at their own pace as they explore the making process.
The course covers a range of topics, including making-up and trimming of felt and straw hats, and how to choose the right material to achieve different effects. Students are introduced to the wonders of blocking and learn how to use materials in an efficient and economical way. They will also gain an insight into how to design for different face shapes and personal styles.
The Millinery Workshop Short Course is very practical and informative, offering students the chance to get hands-on so they can start seeing progress straight away.
