The King’s Mentoring Award recognises students who have taken on a leadership role in supporting others through structured mentoring. Through formal training and hands-on experience, student mentors develop strong interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence, and a service-oriented mindset – all qualities that employers consistently value. The award requires students to complete an e-learning course covering key areas such as the mentor’s role, career development, and Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI), followed by active participation in a mentoring scheme and submission of a final reflection on their growth and impact.
The award is part of King’s Edge – a hub of extracurricular opportunities designed to prepare students for life beyond university. By engaging with King’s Edge, students gain real-world experience in communication, leadership, and problem-solving – building the confidence and capabilities to thrive in diverse professional environments.
Be involved. Strengthen your future.
And get the King’s Edge.
