The AutoCAD for Interior Designers Short Course offers students an overview of the industry standard architectural drafting package – Autodesk AutoCAD.
With a focus on 2D computer aided design (CAD), students are introduced to the AutoCAD user interface and its toolset. Students undertake a series of exercises and gain an insight into the skills required to produce a set of architectural plans, sections and elevations.
During the course, students learn the basics of 2D CAD drafting and discover how to accurately set out their design proposals. The course several topics including the user interface, geometry creation and modification, snap settings, fills and hatch settings and layers.
By the end of the course, students should have acquired a basic working ability with AutoCAD. They will also be able to create your own architectural plans, sections and elevations, whether it be for architectural, interior, theatre, engineering, or product design.
