The Visual Merchandising Interiors Short Course offers an overview of visual merchandising (VM) for interiors.
During the course, students learn the fundamental principles, inspiration and techniques involved in visual merchandising for interior retailers. Students practice creative thinking and work on their design and presentation skills.
Students have the opportunity to create two practical projects which include a window styling project for a pop-up shop creating their own 3D model, and an interior styling project with a focus on incorporating current consumer trends. At the end of the project students present their outcomes to the group.
The course covers a number of topics including exterior window communication, basic in-store layout, research, trend forecasting, visual merchandising strategies and design boards.
