The Introduction to the Fashion Industry for 16 to 18 Year Olds Short Course introduces students to the many disciplines and career choices in the fashion industry.
Through a combination of practical workshops, lectures and seminars, students explore the industry, understand the opportunities on offer and plan how they can achieve their goals.
During the week, students learn about the history of the fashion business and gain an insight into the current environment. Topics covered include styling and promotion, the fashion calendar, fashion journalism, buying and merchandising, marketing and PR, media and press, and sales and distribution.
Students also expand their knowledge of show production and event management and find out about the different types of retailers.
