Kalisha Ruth Quinlan-Davies
The Reportage Photography for Creatives Online Short Course is a professional development course that provides an overview on the reportage photography processes and techniques - led by a senior lecturer and established professional photographer.
The session covers the importance of storytelling in reportage photography and teaches students quick and easy techniques to radically change and improve their photography and to apply this know-how to their own field and industry.
Through an in-depth analysis of photographic projects, students explore documentarist methodologies, features, photographic narrative, photo-stories and professional photographic editing.
After this session, students will:
Develop an understanding of the process of creating a concept, executing a photo assignment, editing, selecting, and finally presenting a portfolio of photojournalistic images
Gain an insight into how to produce sets of images (photo-essays) that communicate effectively, following selected themes and/or topics
Hear from a professional photographer on how to identify topics and events for reportage photography, photograph subjects under various light conditions and prepare photographic essays to be presented to the class
Explore photo-journalistic methodologies, features, photographic narrative, photo-stories and professional photographic editing
