The Communicating Sustainability in Fashion Online Short Course offers students an introduction to the increasingly important topic of fashion sustainability.
During the course, students explore critical approaches to fashion marketing and communications from a sustainability perspective, allowing them to develop more sophisticated sustainability strategies. Students also gain hands-on experience by creating a fashion brief.
The course covers several topics including circular economy, greenwashing, promotion opportunities, the changing consumer and risks and issues through the value chain.
By the end of the course, students should have:
• Gained a developed understanding of the issue of sustainability in relation to the fashion industry
• Explored whether sustainability can create a competitive advantage for a brand
• Investigated how sustainability issues are being communicated to the public
• An understanding of consumer attitudes towards sustainability and how this can impact a fashion brand
