UCD Undergraduate Module | Innovation for Sustainability

This Innovation for Sustainability Badge is awarded to students who have successfully completed the Innovation for Sustainability module at the UCD Innovation Academy. This UCD accredited 5 ECTS undergraduate module supports learners to: • Outline the key challenges of Sustainability and their underlying causes • Discuss the role and importance of creativity and innovation for Sustainability with a particular emphasis on the Circular Economy • Follow the five stages of design thinking to work on a real-world sustainability challenge to gain an understanding of the problem, to identify insights, prototype, test and communicate potential solutions • Work in a multidisciplinary team • Practice personal reflection as a tool for continuous self-improvement and self-directed learning as well as identify areas for personal action Earners have successfully participated in the following learning modules: • Active/task-based learning • Peer and Group work • Guest Speakers • Enquiry & Problem-based learning • Student Presentations • Reflective Learning
