The Introduction to Drawing Skills Online Short Course is designed to help students develop core drawing skills. The course explores a wide range of creative applications, including light, composition and design.
During the course, students work through simple exercises that provide new ways of looking at individual objects, still life and the model. To strengthen the abstract qualities in their work, students also practise analysing form in space and study composition and pictorial design.
The course introduces students to simple techniques and experimental processes that enable them to develop a more personal or meaningful interpretation of the subject matter. Several topics are covered including still life, composition, perspective and movement.
By the end of the course, students should have a portfolio of drawings in several media, and an idea of what makes drawing such a uniquely satisfying activity.
