Interior Design Module One Short Course

The Interior Design Module One Short Course guides students through the essential drawing and presentation techniques needed to start on their interior design journey. The course offers an introduction to three-dimensional thinking and analysis in relation to the design of interiors. During the course, students are introduced to a variety of new skills and techniques covering all the essentials including concept boards, drawing plans and elevations using CAD software and bubble diagrams. Students work on a residential project in response to a brief. The course covers several topics including hard finishes, soft furnishings, lighting, colour, sample boards, CAD rendering techniques and sourcing materials. Students also learn about mounting and labelling their designs before presenting their finished projects. By the end of the course, students have completed a residential project design brief and learnt a number of newfound interior design-related skills. They will also be able to use design thinking when approaching future projects and have the skills to work on an interior design scheme by themselves.
