Students on the Introduction to Interior Design Part 1 Short Course gain the practical skills and knowledge needed to create a design for a domestic space.
During the course, students are introduced to three-dimensional thinking and analysis as they begin to plan and stylise a residential interior space. There is a focus on developing practical design skills as students learn how to produce scale drawings, mood boards and sample boards.
The course covers several topics including client briefs, concept boards, scale drawings, plans and elevations, rendering techniques and sample boards. Students also gain an insight into various presentation methods for mounting work.
By the end of the course, students have developed a range of design-related skills and the confidence needed to start applying their skills to their own domestic design scheme. Students leave the course with a number of newfound design-related skills as well as work to add to a portfolio.
