The Menswear Pattern Cutting Intensive Short Course introduces students to exciting new methods of contemporary pattern cutting for menswear.
The course offers students the opportunity to learn and develop all aspects of professional menswear pattern cutting skills to industry standard.
During the course, students are introduced to industry standard blocks and guided through the core skills of pattern reading and style interpretation. Students learn the basics of pattern manipulation before moving on to create menswear patterns for a variety of garments.
The course covers several topics including shirts, trousers, shorts, pleats and turn-ups, sleeves, necklines, collars, pockets, oversized garments and outerwear jackets.
Students build up a reference pile of pattern work and notes and produce basic sample pieces for some of the patterns they have worked on.
By the end of the course, students should be able to interpret fashion designs into their own patterns and garments.
