Alternative Photographic Processes Short Course

The Alternative Photographic Processes Short Course introduces students to a series of alternative photographic processes, using the photographic image as a starting point. The course examines and demonstrates the choices and print methods that go towards producing tangible pieces of work. Students consider the interaction between image and base material and explore new processes. The course covers a number of topics and processes including liquid photographic emulsions, cyanotype printing, Van Dyke printing, UV reactive dyes and digital negatives. Students learn how to continue working with these techniques after the course with the minimum of specialist equipment. By the end of the course, students will have had the opportunity to network and share ideas with other students and received feedback on assignments.
