Denim Jean Workshop Short Course

On the Denim Jean Workshop Short Course students have the opportunity to cut and sew a selvedge jean, with step-by-step instructions. During the course, students cover true 1930s and 1950s construction with added features including a continuous fly, clean construction and single needle felled seams. Students work with industrial sewing machines at London College of Fashion and have the chance to network and share ideas with other students. The course explores the process of 5 pocket selvedge jean construction, including chalking out, hemming and attaching pockets, buttons, back panels and yoke felled seams. The course covers several topics including sewing up the selvedge seam, side seam safety stitch, attaching the waistband (with tailored belt loops), top waistband button hole, and attaching the leather patch in a continuous stitch.
