The Studio Lighting Short Course covers the principles and theory of photographic lighting and relates these to the studio environment by practical demonstration and hands-on application.
Students shoot portraits of fellow students, so that they can see and record the lighting and its effects. Students should finish the course with a number of studio portraits to support them in building their portfolios.
During the course, students deconstruct and then recreate iconic images to see how photographers create effects with lighting. In class, industry standard studio techniques are used to ensure that students can work effectively with contemporary techniques.
