Portfolio Preparation Short Course

The Portfolio Preparation Short Course is designed to help students to develop an approach to constructing a body of artwork that will extend their thinking and practice. During the course, students develop a body of artwork which can be used towards a portfolio for art college application using skills and techniques in research, sketchbook development and practical work. The course covers several topics including research methods, use of sketchbooks, idea development and experimentation. Students are advised on how to present a portfolio and learn various interview techniques. By the end of the course, students will have produced substantial work that will enhance their portfolio and improved their technical skills in a variety of areas. They will also be able to talk about their work with confidence and generate ideas for new work and new ways of working.
