Knitwear For Fashion Beginners Short Course

The Knitwear for Fashion Beginners course guides students, with no previous knitting experience, through the process to complete a knitwear design project. Through visual research and sourcing materials and yarns students develop their technique and skills. By the end of the course students have: - a solid grounding in the basic machine knitting stitches - explored complicated techniques such as fairisle, tuck & slip stitch, fully fashioning and creating patterns. - learnt how to translate visual research into beautiful knits and how to sketch up design ideas. - learnt how to complete a project by creating either a garment or a portfolio of swatches
