Introduction to Jewellery Design Online Short Course

Panagiotis Kyrikos
The Introduction to Jewellery Design Online Short Course offers students an introduction to jewellery design. Students study trends and ways of working within the practice prior to designing and costing their own pieces.
Taught through a combination of demonstrations, mini-lectures and Q&A, the course is designed to help students become acquainted with the technical knowledge and skills that are essential for aspiring jewellery designers.
During the course, students learn how to design their own jewellery collection from idea generation, through problem solving to completed hand rendered 2D design. Students are guided through the design process including how to conduct visual research, sketching and rendering skills and technical drawing.
By the end of the course, students have produced a body of work which can contribute to a portfolio or be developed into finished pieces of jewellery. They will also have used a range of painting and drawing techniques to create original jewellery and developed a jewellery concept which could be pitched to a client.
