Improve Your Photography Short Course

The Improve Your Photography Short Course provides students with a series of projects and challenging briefs that are explored both on and off campus. The course helps students to enhance their aesthetic and technical abilities and develop a greater critical awareness of the medium itself. Students take part in a series of slideshow lectures and workshops and develop an understanding of the principal techniques and picture making skills employed by a range of photographers throughout the medium's history. Topics covered include: How different photographers make use of light How composition is used to enhance or distort meaning Studio lighting set-ups for portraiture and still-life Digital editing workflow and ink-jet printing B&W darkroom printing Showcasing work through photo-books or social media
