Students on the Art Direction Short Course learn about the skills and processes required to work as professional art director.
During the course, students learn the fundamental art direction skills, including the principles of visual communication, semiotics and the significance of analysing trends and campaign case studies. Students undertake various practical exercises and learn how to create concepts for photoshoots and TV adverts.
The course covers several topics including art direction in editorial and advertising, mood boards, producing a campaign, photoshoots and video production.
By the end of the course, students will have learnt the skills and principles of art direction. They will also have developed their confidence in generating creative ideas and communicating these visually in a successful, unique and professional manner.
