Creative Copywriting Short Course

On the Creative Copywriting Short Course, students learn the tricks of the copywriter's trade and practise their own creative copywriting. Learning to write effective headlines, students tailor copy to different audiences. The course explores what makes an effective headline and how to tailor copy to different audiences and media. Students take part in informal and lively sessions with people from a wide range of backgrounds. Taking part in practical exercises and discussions helps students build their confidence and practise writing copy for websites, social media, email, ads and traditional print. Students learn how to add some extra punch and creative flair to their writing, helping to grab attention and persuade customers. Topics covered include: • Fundamental principles of good writing • Exploring tone of voice • Headline writing techniques • Combining words and images - conceptual thinking • Structuring longer pieces of copy in print - leaflets and brochures • News writing - PR, press releases, newsletters • Writing for the web • Writing for social media • Direct communication - mail and email By the end of the course students will have: • Developed new skills • Had the chance to network and share ideas with students from across the globe
