Introduction to Making Latex Clothes Short Course

On the Introduction to Making Latex Clothes Short Course, students learn the many skills involved in the making of latex clothes and have the opportunity to practise them by creating their own latex garments. During the course, students learn and practise the basic techniques involved in the making of a simple latex garment such as bonding seams, hems, edging and trims, and inserting zips and appliques. Students work on a project which involves re-creating a fabric garment in a heavier grade of latex. Students gain an insight into how to trace patterns and cut and make garments. The course is intensive in order to give students the chance to learn as many new skills as possible and apply them directly to projects. Students should finish the course with two of their own garments.
