Architectural Drawing Level 1 Short Course

The Architectural Drawing Level 1 Short Course is designed to help students develop or refresh their technical architectural drawing skills. The course helps students build their confidence and ability to visualise and draw space by applying drawing methods to an individually developed project. The project takes students through the entire architectural design process, from conceptualization to final presentation, including techniques such as sketching, technical drawing, and material experimentation. During the course, students gain an insight into site observational sketching skills as well as the basics of perspective and axonometric drawings. The course also covers the conventions of technical scaled architectural drawings and the use of fundamental freehand drawings during design development. Students on the Architectural Drawing Level 1 Short Course gain an understanding of the design development process, including the use of materiality and concept models to inform the process.
