Interior Design Module Two Short Course

The Interior Design Module Two Short Course is the second part of the three-part interior design module short course programme. The course is designed to help students hone their analytical design skills and develop their own personal interior design methodology. Module Two helps students take their knowledge and skill set to the next level. The focus is on designing for a commercial interior space. Students work on a commercial project by designing a bar / restaurant and develop a range of new skills which encompass surveying, detail drawing, designing staircases and SketchUp 3. The course covers several topics including survey drawings, concept boards, sections / elevations in Vectorworks, fire regulations, disabled access, lighting and rendering techniques. By the end of the course, students will be able to work logically through the design process up to the design scheme stage. They will also have learnt a number of new design-related skills and completed a commercial interior design project. Students will also have an understanding of how to present their work professionally.
