UCD Professional Diploma in Creativity, Innovation and Leadership

This Certificate of Completion is awarded to students who have successfully completed the Professional Diploma in Creativity, Innovation and Leadership. This UCD accredited, Level 9, 20 ECTS programme supports learners to: • Adopt an Entrepreneurial Mindset including opportunity recognition, adaptability, future orientation, initiative, resilience and self-direction. • Understand the structures and theoretical tools that enable efficient team work, in order to convert ideas into value. • Confidently recognise, cultivate and apply creative and entrepreneurial thinking in their own discipline and appreciate its value in other arena. • Understand the fundamentals of innovation and entrepreneurship. • Unlock creativity in self, teams and workplaces. • Collaborate with others in ambiguous or unpredictable environments. • Cultivate skills for influencing, negotiating and creative problem solving. • Develop a capacity for self-awareness and self-reflection. • Build an ongoing creative leadership practice, acting with creative confidence in the world. • Have applied their prior learning to develop and implement a project in a professional environment. • Understand the barriers and obstacles involved in developing and implementing innovative practices and solutions in a real-world context • Demonstrate the use of problem-solving tools and techniques. • Understand the process for initiating and using creative techniques within project structure. • Apply reflective practices to both the process and outcome of the applied project and reflect on failures, improvements, and opportunities. • Develop expanded personal networks, in conjunction with the invaluable professional experience of working on a focused independent project. Earners have successfully participated in the following learning modules: • Creative Thinking & Innovation: Exploring creativity and innovation through tasks, techniques and discussion including idea creation and selection, evolving innovative ideas in multidisciplinary teams, translating ideas into value creation and participating in hosted projects with real-world enterprise partners. • Leadership for Innovation and Creativity: Exploring a new kind of leadership which unlocks creativity and innovation in the workplace. Learners will explore their personal strengths, weaknesses, mindsets and values as a creative, innovative leader, working in any sector. • Professional Practice (Action Learning Project - Innovation in the Workplace): Applying and building on lessons learnt from the Creative Thinking and Leadership Development Modules to to a real-world project to further develop their creativity, leadership and entrepreneurial mindsets as well as developing their overall professional practice as a Creative Leader.
