Evening Painting Short Course

Rosario Bloch
On the Evening Painting Short Course, students explore the many possibilities that painting can open up.
Students draw and paint from a life model and are encouraged to explore and paint a range of different subjects and approaches, including more abstract ways of painting. Students may experiment with painting from digital or photographic images.
By the end of the course, students will have explored a range of different approaches to painting, from figurative painting to more experimental painterly approaches. They are encouraged to develop independent lines of study and to produce several pieces of work.

Observational drawing using line and tone
Paint application and layering techniques
Composition
Exploring contemporary colours
Developing individual style
By the end of the course students should have:
Produced several pieces of work
Developed new skills
Experienced life on campus
Had the chance to network and share ideas with students from across the globe
Received feedback and critique on assignments
