The User Experience (UX) Design Short Course is designed to teach students the essentials of app design and address the importance of User Experience (UX) as an approach to solve problems.
The course explores what user experience is and how it can help to create a more user-friendly website/mobile app or desktop application. Through a combination of theory and practice, students learn how to identify user needs and behaviours, iterate their design ideas, design wireframes, build and test prototypes and finally, refine and polish their design.
During the course, students gain an insight into design documentation and the preparation of assets for developers so they can get familiar with the professional UX processes.
The course covers a wide range of topics including research techniques, design principles, sketching and wireframe design, prototypes, case studies and design thinking.
By the end of the course, students should have greater confidence and understanding of the benefits of UX. They will also have built an app prototype and begun to test, refine and share this.
