This 5-week evening course at London College of Fashion is designed to help students improve their makeup knowledge and skills. The course offers a practical introduction to a variety of makeup techniques and special effects (SFX) makeup.
During the course, students gain an insight into different skin types and skincare routines, learn methods for concealing imperfections and master basic to advanced eyeshadow application, including blending and layering.
Students learn how to apply mascara, eyeliner and false eyelashes effectively, achieve different lip looks (e.g. ombre, matte, glossy), and apply blush and highlighter to enhance natural features. The aim is to teach students how to adapt and apply makeup techniques to create trendy looks.
In addition, the course provides an introduction to the art of SFX makeup, offering a great opportunity for students to develop a portfolio showcasing makeup techniques and SFX makeup looks. Students learn how to create basic wounds, cuts, bruises and scars using makeup, and gain an understanding of the use of SFX materials like latex, silicone and gelatin.
The course provides an overview of best practices for safe application and removal of SFX makeup and introduces students to various SFX products and their applications.
