Patternmaking Experimental And Explorative Approaches Part 2 Short Course

The Patternmaking Experimental And Explorative Approaches Part 2 Short Course follows on from Patternmaking Experimental And Explorative Approaches Part 1. The course explores some unconventional and inventive approaches to patternmaking and shape creation. During the course, students are encouraged to think ‘outside the box’ and experiment with abstract and geometric shapes in both 2D and 3D, and to observe how they relate to the body as garments. The course aims to lead students on a journey of discovery which encourages them to rethink their approach to design and patternmaking. Students practise a series of calico modelling skills and create their own ‘geometrically draped’ toile.
