Creating Textile Design Collections Online Short Course

The Creating Textile Design Collections Online Short Course explores everything there is to know about creating textile design collections. Its focus is both creative and commercial. Students learn how to apply textile design skills to create coordinated collections of soft furnishings, tied together by unique design elements. By the end of the course, students will have produced at least two collections that can be added to portfolios, support in preparing for degree applications or to set up their own creative practice. This intermediate course challenges students to create live task textile design drawings, colour palettes and geometric forms. Exploring the importance of trends in the textile industry, how to identify them and create collections based on them. Students create their own textile design prints and learn how to print on fabric manually.
