Beginners Photography Film & Darkroom Short Course

The Beginners Photography Film & Darkroom Short Course supports students in improving their film camera handling skills as well as exploring the many possibilities a black and white darkroom has to offer. Students work with their own negatives in the B&W darkroom to explore printing techniques; learning new processes and discovering different ways of creating images by experimenting and making mistakes. Topics covered: Composition and framing techniques Creative camera control Exposure and how to use a flash B&W film development B&W printing using resin-coated and fibre-based papers Creating photograms and solarising images Finishing techniques, such as toning and re-spotting prints
