Through a series of lectures and practical exercises, students on the Storytelling Techniques for Business Short Course explore different techniques for effective verbal delivery.
During the course, students examine the techniques used by great communicators and gain an insight into various practical techniques on how to deliver.
Several topics are covered including essentials of great communication, storytelling techniques for structure, transforming data, use of voice and body language, confidence and troubleshooting.
By the end of the course, students should be able to:
- distil a cogent and concise message from any type of source material
- structure the content of a pitch or a presentation for flow, and make the story exciting
- give ‘dry’ data the right emotional tone to get the audience to relate and engage
- use different techniques for effective verbal delivery
- use their voice and body language in a captivating manner
- increase their confidence and use different techniques to manage nervousness
- adapt their story to different occasions and audiences, and to changed circumstances
