Alice Chen
This course is aimed at photographers interested in street portraits. Students will spend the course visiting some of London’s most eclectic areas, taking meaningful, beautiful photographs of Londoners. Looking out for fascinating characters, stories and style, expect to build a body of work that reflects the capital’s eccentric heart.
Students will learn how to make the most of daylight and composition techniques to elevate their work. Ways to approach strangers for portraits will be explored, with ample guidance from the tutor. There will be a grounding in the history of street portraiture, to inspire students’ practice and style. Guidance on relevant advanced camera knowledge is included, such as metering and focusing techniques. There are regular critiques from the tutor on students’ work.
